Huffman Race Moves to October 16th

Newton, NC(Sept. 6, 2011) -- Normally by this time in the season, the Dwight Huffman Memorial race would be another bright memory for area race fans, but this season the date for race known as "The Huffman" is now set for October 15-16th.
"The Huffman" is sure to continue to be one of the biggest races throughout the region and with the post-season date it

might just be bigger this season than anytime in the races previous three-year history.  Normally set for the second Saturday in July, the race would go head to head with other tracks open for regular points races.  On this new, October 16th date they won't have to worry about splitting car counts with other regional races as much with only one other race on tap that weekend throughout North Carolina.
The new date for the race replaces another big race at Hickory Motor Speedway, the "Fall Brawl" with the Dwight Huffman Memorial, a new tradition started four years ago following the untimely death of Dwight, who was a racing pioneer in this region.  It is expected to be one of the great events in the storied history of Hickory Motor Speedway and will feature the Late Model Stock Cars and Limited Late Models.
